The birthing process is amazing.

Whether it is a person, an animal, or a thing, bringing something from thought to creation is an awesome event.

When people write a book, I always make sure to tell them, congratulations. I know how scary a blank page can be. To fill them with words, approximately 35,000 of them, and then to finish with the words "the end" is an amazing adventure. But the completion of writing is hardly the birth of the book, it is merely the conception. The steps that are required to birth a book are getting it from the computer, to a readable form and format, printed, distributed and then finally read.

This week Book Expo America is happening at the Jacob Javitz center in New York.

Book Expo America is the largest book publishing trade show in the country. Booksellers from the major chains to the niche independents arrive at Book Expo to order the books that they will sell for the next two years. That's right the books of 2010 are here, this week.

For some, it is the beginning of their publishing dreams and careers, for others, it is another step in their history in the business. Written will bring you information about all of it... the good, bad and the ugly.
