I like this challenge as I enjoy seeing what others are reading.
This challengeshows the diversity of books in all genre/subgenres of books by authors of color!
Congratulations Beverly :)
I have finished the following: #27 - The Boiling Season - Christopher Hebert (historical fiction)
#28 - The Thing Around Your Neck - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (short story collection)
#29 - Pretty Boy Problems - Michele Grant (romance)
#30 - Red Hot - Niobia Bryant
Well, this year I did better than in the past in that I read 13 books that were originally on my 30 book list. But except for the 4 on the original list that I started, but was not my cup of tea - I am still planning on reading the rest of my original list.
Okay, I miscounted. Bill Myers' The Presence (sequel to The Soul Tracker) is my actual thirtieth, and I just now finished that one. But either way, I completed the challenge :-).
It is finished! Soul Tracker by Bill Myers was my 30th book- finished the challenge again ahead of schedule. I went so far off my original list it's not even funny, but I got thirty in.
Well since the Olympics has been over I have been able to get back to reading and the challenge. I have finished the following:
#20 - One Blood - Qwantu Amaru (horror)
#21 - Singing Away the Hunger: The Autobiography of an African Women - Mpho 'M' Atsepo Nthunya
#22 - A Chance At Love - Beverly Jenkins (historical romance)
#23 - A Forever Kind of Love - Farrah Rochon (romance)
#24 - Elsewhere, California - Dana Johnson (literary fiction)
#25 - Lucretia and the Kroons - Victor LaValle (horror)
#26 - Love in the Years of Lunacy - Mandy Sayer
Just finished book #22Night Hawk by Beverly Jenkins. On to #23, I will read 30 books.
One more book to go! I finished Eli by Bill Myers (#27), The Single Sister Experiment (#28) and The Bride Experiment (#29)- the last two are both by Mimi Jefferson. I have two different books sitting here staring at me- I'll choose one for #30 and get into it tomorrow.
